LINGAYEN, Pangasinan โ The ๐๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐น๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐น๐ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ต ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ป๐ป๐ผ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป (๐๐ฆ๐๐ก) ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ hosted a lecture by ๐ฟ๐ง. ๐ฝ๐๐ค๐ค๐ข๐ ๐ผ๐ฃ๐๐๐๐ง๐๐ titled โ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐น๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ป ๐ง๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ต๐ป๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ๐ ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ป๐ฑ๐ถ๐ฎ: ๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฃ๐ต๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐,โ on October 29, 2025, at the Golden Lion Hotel, Lingayen, Pangasinan, as part of her Day 3 visit to the Philippines.
The activity formed part of the Department of Science and Technology Region Iโs (DOST R1) initiative to strengthen international collaboration and knowledge exchange in support of the ๐ฟ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐พ๐๐ฃ๐ฉ๐๐ง๐จ ๐๐ฃ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ค๐ฃ๐จ ๐๐ค๐ง ๐&๐ฟ (๐๐๐พ๐๐) ๐๐ง๐ค๐๐ง๐๐ข, under which the ASIN Center is being implemented. Dr. Andhariaโs visit aimed to advance research linkages and share Indiaโs best practices in salt production to help modernize and strengthen the Philippinesโ local salt industry.
The program opened with welcome remarks from ๐๐ฟ. ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐น๐ฒ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐๐๐น๐๐ฎ๐, ๐ฉ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ต, ๐๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป, ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ป๐ป๐ผ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป of the Pangasinan State University (PSU), followed by the introduction of Dr. Andharia by ๐๐ป๐ด๐ฟ. ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฒ๐น, ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ด๐ฟ๐ฎ๐บ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ท๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ ๐ฎ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฟ of the ๐๐ข๐ฆ๐ง ๐ก๐๐๐๐ฅ ๐๐ฆ๐๐ก ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ.
In her presentation, Dr. Andharia shared insights into Indiaโs salt production processes and technicalities, as well as the initiatives of the ๐๐ผ๐๐ป๐ฐ๐ถ๐น ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ณ๐ถ๐ฐ & ๐๐ป๐ฑ๐๐๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฎ๐น ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ตโ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐น ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐น๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐บ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น๐ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ต ๐๐ป๐๐๐ถ๐๐๐๐ฒ (๐๐ฆ๐๐ฅ-๐๐ฆ๐ ๐๐ฅ๐) in Bhavnagar, India, highlighting innovation, sustainability, and global collaboration. She also emphasized the instituteโs partnerships with several countries aimed at advancing the efficiency and quality of salt production worldwide.
An engaging open forum followed, where saltmakers, researchers, and local officials exchanged insights on adapting Indiaโs practices to strengthen the Philippine salt industry.

Meanwhile, ๐๐ฟ. ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐น๐ฒ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐๐๐น๐๐ฎ๐ extended her gratitude to DOST Region I and Dr. Bhoomi Andharia for sharing her time and expertise with the local researchers. She highlighted that the exchange reinforces PSUโs collaboration with the DOST NICER Program and its continuing efforts to build local capacities in sustainable salt production.
