The Accelerating Salt Research and Innovation (ASIN) Center, led by Pangasinan State University (PSU), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the CSIR-Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute (CSMCRI) of Bhavnagar, India, during a visit held from June 9–11, 2025.

This international partnership aims to strengthen joint research and project development focused on advancing salt production technologies. The collaboration will leverage CSIR-CSMCRI’s expertise in membrane technology and modern salt production techniques.

Established in 1954, CSIR-CSMCRI is globally recognized for its contributions to salt and marine chemical industries, membrane science, and agro-input technologies.

Through this partnership, the ASIN Center, supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), seeks to revitalize the Philippine salt industry by integrating innovation and sustainability into its processes.
